It runs from Chicago to LA and is known as “The Mother Road”, “The Will Rogers Memorial Highway”, “Main Street of America” or just plain Route 66.
It runs about 28 miles from our location in Taylorville, Illinois as we are frequently reminded by guests driving this route and find us to be so close that they want to savor the beauty and enjoyment perceived as a night’s stay at our fine inn.

Taylorville Lakeshore Golf Course https://golflakeshore.com/ is about 3.5 miles from our front door and the Lincoln Prairie Hike and Bike Trail is about 6 blocks from our front door. Arpeggio Winery is about 23 minutes from us as is Walnut Street Winery and both offer tasting of fine wines in a warm setting and sometimes featuring entertainment on weekend nights.
Warm weather brings out a whole series of festivals in nearby towns most weekends. There is plenty to do in our area: something as simple as sitting on our front porch sipping a beverage to playing a round of golf or attending one of our local or regional fetes happens for your enjoyment.
